BDW is a two-month long celebration of all things design which is the carrier for the launch of Bengaluru as the World Design Protopolis or WDP. It is a confluence of events that blend emergent technologies, catalytic thinking, vibrant conversations, disruptive collaborations, hybrid aesthetics and diverse design practices. BDW is not just for designers, but a unique space for anyone with a dream to come and converse, collaborate or co-create.

In a pool of learning, the main focus of this project is, “how might we effectively navigate co-creative processes in a wicked learning environment, so that collective outcomes are useful and impactful.” It is about building an image that resonates with the audience.

PRODUCTION TEAM

The technical side of design

Design is great only if it’s feasible and being in the production team, cost, time and efficiency are three major sectors to take account of.

Mapping every location and listing down the quantities to build a mark amongst our audience.

Listing out the MVPS for each property and classifying the collaterals which can mass produced for all the events, and what is unique for each.

Building the program schedule a night before the conference day even thought there were changes at every stage but due to requirements it had to be sent for printout regardless of the mistakes.

WORKING ON THE SPONSOR DECK

The original sponsor deck was clutter, text heavy and with no direction.

With the new sponsor deck we tried to separate each heading, made it cleaners, used the right colours where needed, gave a clear understanding of what’s happening on the slide and made it more interactive.

AGILE STRATEGIES

Following a collaborative mode of thinking for problems and arranging task could possibly be helpful in maintaining organization forwarding at a good pace.

Agile strategies are design plans that are meant to adapt, evolve, and respond to new information.

Frameworks were used in different stages to increase efficiency

- SCRUM FRAMEWORK

- EXTREME PROGRAMMING (XP)

- KANBAN

STARFISH AND

SPIDER MODEL

Starfish network. No head. Major organs are replicated throughout each arm. Cut it in half and you get two starfish.

A spider has eight legs and a head; cut off the spider’s head or legs, and its body will die.

HYBRID BRIDGE VERSION

While we have a hierarchy, we also distribute leadership across the formation. Each unit has a commander, and every Soldier, at every level, has a role. The ideology of freedom fuels our all-volunteer force.

develop

All of the new elements in the brand language were implemented in all the collaterals with every part holding a meaning.

Deconstruction of multiple layers to see how the composition builds up to the final outcome.

BREAKDOWN OF THE LAYOUT

With constant exchange of ideas, information and thoughts, how do you bring in harmony between the two parties?

The main sector of production is the collaterals, specially the MVPS but with such a vast and varied information, how do you make the whole event come together yet represent there distinctive characteristics?

Being in a co-creating space, delivering the same visual language with multiple hands on it with distinctive styles, and still how do you make it look cohesive?

“An art editor is a specialist who is responsible for the decoration of published materials, selection of illustrations and general design, and provides the highest possible quality of polygraphic design. The work of an art editor assumes advanced knowledge of the methods of editing graphic materials, polygraphic technologies, being able to work with graphic processing software, and a number of other skills.”

As an Art Editor, excellence in quality of work and looking at each detail with a magnifying glass is a must. All the layouts and designs went through my team which was sent for printing after making the necessary changes. Looking at all the elements and seeing if the composition is balanced. The use of tones is done well according to the ratio
